Water pumps and pressure problems on yachts
Low pressure in the showers, a pump that never stops or one that won't start: we diagnose the system and restore steady pressure throughout the vessel.
Pressure problems are rarely just the pump. Filters, accumulators, pressure switches, non-return valves and leaks all play a part. We check the whole circuit so the fix lasts, and we install new pumps when the old one has reached the end of its life.
What we do
- Freshwater pumps and pressure sets
- Accumulators and pressure switches
- Seawater and deck wash pumps
- Bilge pumps, float switches and drainage
- Strainers, filters and non-return valves
- Pressure balancing between decks and cabins
Typical symptoms
- The pump cycles on and off with all taps closed
- Pressure drops when two showers are used at once
- The pump runs but no water comes out
- Noise or vibration from the pump compartment

Frequent questions
Why does my water pump keep switching on by itself?
Usually a small leak, a faulty non-return valve or an accumulator that has lost its pre-charge. We find which one it is.
Can you increase water pressure in the cabins?
In many cases, yes: by fixing restrictions, adding or resizing an accumulator, or upgrading the pump.
Do you service bilge pumps?
Yes. We test, repair and replace bilge pumps and float switches.
